On the Ninth Day of Christmas...Only 3 More to Go

On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.
(or does this verse refer to the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit?)

I’m back, now there’s a surprise.... not. I know, I’ve never posted so much but having started the 12 Days of Christmas I may as well continue...sorry....and apologies again for this being a long post with many more pics.....
~~~~
There was one event I forgot to mention that happened on the wedding day. Thankfully no one was injured. Two of my very good friends David and Kathy and their 5 year old daughter Lauren had a very narrow escape that day. They had left the church to go onto the reception and as they were turning off near a roundabout another car cut across them and to avoid colliding into other cars David swerved and hit the roundabout. They managed to get to the Watermill car park but water was running out of the car and it was damaged. They did manage to stay for most of the reception after their car was towed away by the RAC and apart from being in slight shock, obviously, they were unhurt. The driver of the car never even stopped. And to add to this, the wedding car had been followed by a hearse!!!! This is supposed to be good luck for a married couple!.....
~~~~
I also forgot to tell you that at the reception Korenza reached out to me and said ‘Nanny’and promptly snuggled down in my arms. That’s the first time she has done that, so you can imagine how I felt. She again called me Nanny later the same day, makes you feel all warm inside....
~~~~
Today Christopher’s friend Parker gave me, on a cd, the photos he had taken of the wedding. Obviously, there are similar ones to mine but I’ve only skipped through them. He also gave me an unexpected cd of the wedding that he managed to record. There are also some photos of Christopher and Jane’s stag/hen night!!!!!
********************
I chose the slogan for Christopher's placard...hehe...I asked him for a suggestion for Jane’s and he came up with the Closing Down Sale line, he was referring to the Woolworths store closing in St. Ives (and sadly everywhere else) ...
The first pic below is especially for Holly of Winter at Penniwigs, she asked if she could see more of the dress. Do visit her blog, she does amazing graphics which she kindly lets us all use for free!!!!
My hubby Andy is on the left and Best Woman Jenny is on the right. It was nice to see that they also had a female vicar....Girl Power.....
This is a lovely photograph of the happy couple with their bridesmaids and pageboy
As I mentioned in my previous post I said goodbye to my dear friend Cheryl yesterday, who got home safe last night I’m glad to say....But before we said Au revoir we all went for lunch at The Watermill, where Alan had left his car from the day before. We had a great time with lots of laughs and the food was good. There are also games and children’s books available, so it’s great for families, etc. I would certainly recommend it....
Cheryl and Lee. Chez (as she is affectionately known) was looking tired but less ‘stern’ yesterday.
The newlyweds with Korenza. Can you see the scowl on her face, the little madam!....
********************
Yes Korenza had soup for starters and no Jane didn't use a bib for her!!!!
********************
Gosh, look at all those empty glasses! I can assure you that the contents had been all non-alcoholic....lol...So me being me I went off after the meal for a wander again......
********************
Another example of the Watermill’s former use....
More evidence left to nature
********************
Part of the stream that runs under the bridge that Christopher and Jane stood on....
********************
Part of the land that belongs to the Watermill. There is more to the left of this area....
********************
As I glanced about me on this cold damp day I suddenly saw a splash of color. Amongst all this winter foliage a flower still grew...
********************
It won’t be long now before I’ll be taking down my Christmas tree. I’ve usually taken it down by now but with the wedding I’ve been too busy. But I will have one less bauble to put away this year thanks to one dog and an unknown cat!!!! Remember I said I had unbreakable decs because of my cat Willow, well I forgot about the dogs......I was sitting at my computer sending documents to David’s insurance company (yep, his car is going to cost a bit to repair) when he suddenly said that the dog was eating a bauble! Merlin my border collie obviously didn’t think it was one as it was the shape of a ball.....but obviously polystyrene is not good for them....
********************
Here you see the bauble hanging prettily on the tree....
********************
Not so pretty now after Merlin played ‘ball’ with it...
********************
Don’t be fooled by this submissive pose of Merlin’s, he’s sulking, trust me....
********************
This is after I said ‘Come on Merlin’... no way, I’d took his ‘ball’ and all the pretty gold braid away from him....
********************
Don’t you just love them..... And where was he after I came back to the computer, lying on the floor right behind me without a care in the world! One of the cats must have flicked the bauble off the tree (I have my suspicions which one) and Merlin thought ‘Great let’s play ball’...lol.....ha well that’s the joy of having animals....Oh yes, I went to Slimming World tonight and lost 1 lb, can’t believe it after Christmas, the wedding and New Year..... Until next time...lol...
Thorns may hurt you,
men desert you,
sunlight turn to fog;
but you're never friendless ever,
if you have a dog.
Oh, I just love that dress, thank you for posting another picture of it! Very elegant!
What a lovely wedding and day-after, but sorry about your friends' near miss with that bad driver!
Are you all now quite tired after the Big Event coming right on the heels of Christmas???!!!
Remark to Merlin: "Poor Merlin...you thought it was just a regular ball...bless your heart...!"
My pleasure Holly, thought you would appreciate it....Yes I'm very tired, first builders working, spring cleaning the house after them, Christmas, wedding, etc. No doubt I'll be very tired after having Korenza (it's a long time since I looked after a little one for more than a few hours)but I am looking forward to that, got lots planned for her. Plus the builders will be back next week....phew!....Hugs Chrissy x
Remark from Merlin: Glad someone understands me. What's a dog to do....woof woof
